The game:
The Super Bowl LIX will be remembered for the Philadelphia Eagles dominating the Kansas City Chefs throughout the entirety of the game. It was the Eagle’s defense that came to play, sacking Patrick Mahomes many times and forcing multiple turnovers. They were able to hold Kansas City to just 1.2 yards per play when the first half had ended and were constantly pressuring quarterback Patrick Mahomes, sacking him six times by the end of the give. This relentless defense helped set the Eagles’ offense up with many opportunities to score.

As for the Eagles’ offense, Jalen Hurts was very impressive throughout the game. Jalen Hurts has received much criticism throughout the year but Hurts silenced the critics during this game. Hurts was able to attack Kansas City through the air completing multiple downfield passes, and used his legs to scramble out of pressure from the Chiefs defensive line. Hurts’ performance was enough to give him the Super Bowl MVP. The Eagles consistently made plays in important moments that led them to a dominant victory.This victory was a huge milestone for the Eagles, winning just their second Super Bowl ever. The Eagles won their first Super Bowl LII against the Patriots, and have now won Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs. This win also prevented the Chiefs from winning three straight Super Bowls, which has never been done before in NFL history. This victory for the Eagles will be remembered forever. Philadelphia made it very clear that they are the best team in the NFL and were very deserving of this accomplishment.

The commercials:
There were not quite as many memorable ads this year, however, there were still a couple that caught America’s eye. The first was a Dove ad, called their ‘Confidence Campaign.’ This advertisement highlighted a young girl who grew up to play football and showcased inner strength and confidence.
The next was similar to the Dove ad, this was Nike’s advertisement titled ‘So Win.’ This ad focused on women’s sports and empowering women to play sports and be proud. Women’s sports have grown rapidly over the last couple of years.

The halftime show:
Finally, there was the halftime show. This performance has gotten mixed reviews from many different people. The main artist in this show was rapper Kendrick Lamar. Lamar has been very popular for quite some time, but his popularity was through the roof this past year after he and Drake’s diss tracks towards each other. Lamar also had SZA, a popular R&B artist, perform with him. It seems to be the consensus that many people would have enjoyed the show more if SZA would have would have highlighted more. She was only able to perform two songs with Lamar. Lamar performed many songs, but his show was highlighted by playing the hit song ‘Not Like Us.’

Overall this was an entertaining halftime show, but many fans would agree that it could have been much better. This year’s Super Bowl was not quite as big of spectacle than years past, but still broke records for the viewership numbers. There was a record 126 million American viewers for this year’s Super Bowl, showing just how much this country loves football.
