This week’s Student of the Week is Caden Tarr, a great leader and dedicated athlete at Carmel. Tarr has been a part of the Carmel community since kindergarten and has grown into a standout student and baseball player.

Tarr was always around sports as a kid. “I grew up playing baseball, basketball and football,” he said. However, baseball quickly became his passion. After starting at just four years old, the sport has played an instrumental role in his life, teaching him valuable lessons about hard work, teamwork and perseverance. “It means everything to me. It has taught me so much about life and how to get through tough things and not dwell on the past,” Tarr shared.

At Carmel, Tarr has found a great sense of community within the baseball program. “I like playing baseball at Carmel because all the guys and coaches are amazing,” he said. His leadership and dedication were recognized when he was named captain of the team. This was an award that Tarr was very proud of and did not take lightly.
Off the field, Tarr has strong family ties at Carmel. He has two brothers, and the three boys are very close. Tarr states,  “We do a lot together and have a lot of fun when we do things as a family.”

Looking ahead, Tarr has big dreams, especially for baseball. He plans to continue playing baseball in college while studying mechanical engineering or business. His ultimate dream; however, is making it to the MLB. “I plan on playing baseball in college and one day getting drafted to the MLB,” he said.
With his talent, determination, and work ethic, Tarr’s future looks bright, both on and off the field.
