On September 11th, John Reibe, a junior here at CCS, spoke in Chapel. He did an amazing job speaking, especially since he is an introvert, and his sermon left many people reinvigorated. It was a significant step for Reibe, but a good opportunity for him to trust God. Although he grew up surrounded by Christianity, Reibe’s journey in faith truly started in eighth grade when his older brother Andrew led him to Christ. Since eighth grade, Reibe admits to being a lukewarm Christian; however, at this year’s Windy Gap, he decided to start taking his faith seriously. During Windy Gap, he felt surrounded by friends who all encouraged him and supported him. By the end of Windy Gap, Reibe had fully changed his life; he had accepted God fully. Reibe’s advice for anyone struggling with their faith is to be more open to God. He says, “The best thing you can do is go all in. If you do it halfway, you won’t get the full experience.”
Fun facts about Reibe include:
- He has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, his entire life.
- He has attended CCS since kindergarten.
- He loves watching movies.
- He enjoys working out in his free time. He especially likes to work out before he goes to bed.
- When he showers, he starts with 15 minutes of hot water and then does 5 minutes of cold water.
Information for CCS Student Bible Studies:
John Reibe’s Bible Study: Reibe’s Bible study meets on Tuesday and Friday nights. He encourages people to show up, no matter where their faith in God lies. Food and drinks are always provided at these Bible studies. The only thing you need to bring besides yourself is a Bible. Tuesday nights are devotions, starting with a short message, followed by small groups, and then ending in prayer. Friday nights are worship nights, which follow the same format but begin with worship. You can contact John Reibe at [email protected].
Bible Study led by Aaron Asvestas: Aaron Asvestas also has a Bible study for all grades. They meet every Tuesday and Friday at 7:15 am in Mrs. Menendez’s room (S202)! If anyone is interested in joining, you are able to find Aaron at school or email him so that you can be added to the GroupMe for important updates and scheduling reminders. You can contact Aaron Asvestas [email protected].
Senior Girl Bible Study: There is also an amazing all-girls senior Bible study that is hosted by Mrs. Kaminski! If you want more information, please contact Kendall Owen at [email protected], or find her in the hallways!
