Covid-19: a year in review

Quarantine.

By now, the web of emotions evoked by that word differs for every single person. For many, it is tinged with the grief of loved ones lost directly or indirectly from the effects of the coronavirus. For others, quarantine is lined with the happy memories of peace and quiet and quality time spent with one’s family.
March 13, 2021, marked the one-year anniversary of our shared national experience known as the lockdown. The year has been packed with stories and events ranging from downright tragic to heartwarmingly uplifting. To commemorate this past year of our lives, we created a timeline of a selection of events throughout quarantine, complemented with various photos.

And for us, that’s been the year (barring prom and its pics, which I couldn’t be bothered to find and put up). We’ve made it this far, and we’re almost done with school now. It has been quite a ride, that’s for sure. One that, thankfully, with the rollout of the vaccine, seems to be coming to an end. I, for one, can’t exactly say that it was fun while it lasted, but as with all things, it had its good moments along with the terrible ones.

One thing is clear though: this is not an experience that any of us is likely to forget anytime soon.
