Luca Conti is a current Junior who has been at Carmel for three years. Originally, Conti was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. When asked what brought him to Charlotte, he shares, “I moved because a majority of my family lives close to North Carolina. Also, Nevada is 50th in the country for education and my parents wanted me to have the best opportunity to achieve a great education.” Typically students can spot Conti with a camera in his hands at different school functions and events. When asked about how he became interested in photography he states, “I first had an interest in it when I was in middle school, but it eventually died out. I ended up taking a yearbook this year and it sparked my interest in photography again.”

Outside of photography his hobbies and interests include constructing 3D animation and modeling. He hopes to continue his hobby of software 3D printing throughout the next few years. When asked what he loves most about Carmel, he shares his love for the Bible classes because he feels as if he’s learned more about the historical aspects of the Bible which has helped him grow in his faith. Bible teachers commend Conti for his eagerness and desire to learn more about the Bible. Conti currently is the leader of the all-school Bible study club. He encourages each student to come and join the group every Thursday during the lunch hour. Luca Conti adds to the Carmel community through his impeccable knowledge of the faith and his creativity through his camera.
