Cameron Lyerly is a current Freshman who has been at Carmel since the 4th grade. Lyerly was born in Clearwater, Florida. He loves to run, bike and photograph. Lyerly states, “I like to take photos of sports, nature and cars.” After school, Lyerly serves with the Timothy Project, where high school students take care of elementary schoolers after school. Lyerly is a member of the Varsity Cross Country team. He made the state team despite it being his first year on Varsity. Making the state team is a big feat on its own but going as a freshman is even more impressive. Speaking on states, Lyerly said, “I was very grateful for the opportunity and had a great time.” To stay in shape in the offseason, Lyerly says, “I go to the gym frequently.”
When asked to reflect on his strengths, Lyerly said, “I’m very good at running, math and preparing for things before they happen.” Using his math skills, Lyerly wants to earn a degree in Civil Engineering. He hopes to attend Florida State University or NC State. Lyerly also wants to continue to learn Spanish in college as he says, “I want to become fluent in Spanish for future career opportunities.” Lyerly is known by other students for his impressive math skills and good sense of humor. Lyerly is also a Class Officer on Carmel’s Student Government. Lyerly adds to Carmel’s community through the many talents that God has gifted him with.

Chace – You did a great job with this article! I can tell you have some great qualities in the way you interview people. Also, it was great to see Cameron highlighted as one of our freshman. It was awesome to serve with him during J-Term in Orlando. Great job!
