Trent Shepherd is a current sophomore who has been at CCS for most of his life. When asked about his favorite part about Carmel, he said, “probably spending time with friends.”
Outside of school, Shepherd runs his own photography business; in fact, many of his pictures have been used by The Blue & Gold in the past for his high quality and live action content. He began taking pictures as a hobby, but continued to do it to start making money. During the sports seasons, Shepherd can be seen on the sideline taking pictures for the basketball team and in the dugout capturing photos for baseball. He even goes to basketball games and tournaments throughout the Charlotte area to take pictures for teams and star athletes.
Aside from photography, Shepherd has played soccer since he was six. He currently plays club soccer with the Charlotte Eagles, and he has also been a part of Carmel’s soccer team throughout middle and high school. Shepherd states that “Playing in tournaments and being able to spend the night with friends in hotels” is his favorite part about playing soccer. While on the field, Shepherd usually plays striker and in the midfield.
Shepherd has grown up in Charlotte his whole life, but he is eager to move out west once he graduates high school. He explained that he is looking forward to exploring different colleges and is especially interested in schools in Arizona, such as the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. After high school, he would like to continue photography and also pursue graphic design.
Shepherd is an active member of the Carmel family; whether through photography or soccer, he is well-known throughout the student body. Shepherd has big plans for his future, and he is excited about the upcoming experiences and opportunities after high school.
