Carley Roden is a senior at Carmel Christian School and has attended CCS since her sophomore year. Roden grew up in Reston, Virginia, and she moved to Matthews, North Carolina, in 2018. Then, in 2021, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. She has loved getting to be a part of the CCS family for the past couple of years.

Roden enjoys driving, working, watching movies, and playing with her dog. Halloween and Christmas are her favorite holidays. She loves the horror that comes with Halloween, as well as the warmth and joy that Christmas brings. She works as a Hostess/To-Go worker at the new restaurant in the Arboretum, the Smoke Pit. For Roden, it is not all about making money; it is also about learning adult skills before college. She would recommend that everyone get a job before college to help prepare them for the transition into adulthood.

This is Roden’s second year in Media and Journalism. She loves the atmosphere this class brings. She is so excited to become a staff writer for the Blue and Gold. Writing has always been a huge passion of Roden’s. She hopes this opportunity will shape her future with college and life for the better.
