Connor Medford

Joining the 2024-2025 Blue and Gold team, Connor Medford, a 17-year-old senior at Carmel Christian, has been attending Carmel his entire life. He was born in Daytona, FL, and grew up there for the first couple years of his life, enjoying the beaches, the warm weather and the time he spent with his grandparents. He moved to North Carolina with his grandparents when he was around 5, and he still lives next to them.

Medford feels that living in the city of Charlotte has been enjoyable for this season of his life, but he hopes to venture outside the city as graduation approaches. He enjoys playing soccer, and he is a part of the Carmel Christian varsity soccer team, which he takes great pride and honor in. He also plays soccer out of school for Jay’s Jaguars as a forward. Medford loves spending time with his friends, including Carson Russell, Max Mendieta and Caden Rice; he also enjoys spending time with Erin Marrino, which he looks forward to every week. Medford and his friends love spending time playing soccer, going on beach trips and having bonfires. In his time out of school, Medford has worked at Harris Teeter, and he enjoys working at his church, Central Church of God, on Sundays.

In the future, Medford would like to attend Samford University in Alabama, majoring in business administration. He wants to pursue a career in finance, specifically wealth management, after he completes college and eventually hopes to work up to owning his own company. He enjoys mathematics, and the idea of working with money and numbers excites him.

Medford joined The Blue and Gold in hopes to fulfill his love for writing. He believes that writing for the Carmel Christian newspaper is an accomplishment, and he wants to feel connected to the school his senior year by working hard on The Blue and Gold. His personal goals within the newspaper are to create strong stories and persuade the student body to be more engaged with The Blue and Gold.
