Pearce Stinson is a sophomore here at Carmel! He transferred to Carmel for high school from Sedgefield Middle School. He did this to find a new environment.
Stinson was born in Seattle Washington on May 14, 2009, and his family moved to Charlotte shortly after his birth. He grew up with his two siblings, 11-year-old Sone and 13-year-old Loah. Growing up, Stinson enjoyed many different activities. He loved the outdoors, had interests in engineering and enjoyed reading many books.
Stinson is heavily involved with gymnastics as he practices it four days a week for three hours each day! He got involved with gymnastics due to his enjoyment of the trampoline during his childhood. Stinson said, “My favorite gymnastics event is high bar or floor, and I really enjoy flipping around all day.”

Apart from gymnastics, Stinson also invests his time in filmmaking as he expects to continue to practice and major in it during his time at college. “I like to make movies, and I have always been really interested in movies and how they are made,” Stinson said, “I hope to one day make my own movies and have my own movie company.” Stinson’s favorite movie is Good Will Hunting because it is very heartfelt and has a nice ending.
Something that most people do not know about Stinson is that he crochets! He is currently attempting to make a temperature blanket. This means that each row of the blanket is a different color that represents the average temperature for each day of the year.

Not only does he crochet, but he also spends a lot of time outdoors. This includes many amazing vacations. One that stands out to him is the trip he took to Hawaii. Stinson enjoyed the beautiful hikes he went on and the clear water that he was able to swim and surf in. He was also able to visit the filming locations for his favorite television show: Lost.
Stinson is heavily inspired and influenced by his mother. He explains, “I am inspired by my mom because of her strong faith in the Lord and how she always encourages me to be closer to God. My mom also is always very patient and supportive of me in everything that I do. She is always here for me no matter what,” Stinson said.
Stinson is a light to the student body and an amazing soul on campus. He is excited for his future on campus and for all the opportunities he will have!
