Sienna Jauch has been a student at Carmel for seven years. She attended elementary at Carmel, but she changed schools for her middle school, attending Cuthbertson; she started back at Carmel for high school and is now in her junior year. She was drawn to the school because of the welcoming Christian environment that Carmel offers and the caring teachers who pay attention to individuals. Jauch is known for her involvement in many school organizations such as Champions for Christ, DECA, and Art Club but especially the golf team.
Jauch started her golf career in 7th grade by becoming involved in tournaments and realizing her passion for the game.
Jauch said, “I tried many different sports as a kid but I like how golf is an individual sport as well as a team sport. It takes a lot of the pressure off me during the match but when you are done the team is very encouraging and they bring life to the game.”
Though it has been an incredibly enjoyable experience, she has had many struggles through her dedication to the game, including a serious injury.
Jauch shares, “I have had a hard time through my injury. The doctors told me that I needed surgery and then turned around and said that I didn’t. It has been hard to get back because this is the third time I have hurt my wrist. Also, the last time I hurt my wrist was in a tournament that shot my lowest score which was a 75.”
Jauch is also heavily involved in the DECA, Distributed Education Clubs of America, where they focus on four sections of business: marketing, business management + administration, hospitality + tourism and finance. DECA has led Sienna to find a new passion in business. She expresses an interest in business as a possible major and career as DECA has shown Jauch a new side to herself, and the business world, especially after getting into the state competition.
After Carmel, Jauch plans to follow her path to college, hopeful to get a degree involving both business and missions. Jauch stated, “When I graduate college I want to move out of the country and start a non-profit organization to help kids who live in different villages around the world.” She also shared that she is letting God take the wheel and plans to follow the path that he lays down for her.
Jauch’s active involvement in the Carmel community and her Gospel-driven passion will continue into her senior year as she focuses on following the path that God has laid for her.
