Brianna Stewart, a freshman at Carmel Christian, has been attending Carmel since kindergarten. She has made a significant impact on the students and teachers by being a kind-hearted, respectful individual. Stewart plans to continue attending Carmel until her senior year, making her a part of the Alpha Omega group.
Stewart was born in Chicago, Illinois, but she only lived there for a short amount of time. Her parents decided to raise their family in Matthews, North Carolina, and they had two more children along with Stewart: Fiona, 13, and Leah, 11. Fiona, Leah and Brianna have all attended Carmel
their entire lives. Stewart explains that she enjoys the environment of her school, and she could not imagine a more beneficial place for her educational and social experiences. She states, “I love that we get to have Bible class and talk about the Lord in school. I also love that our grade is on the smaller side. It gives us a chance to get to know one another better.”
Outside of school, Stewart has numerous hobbies and talents that she pursues. She specifically enjoys athletics and plays both volleyball and soccer. She has been playing soccer for 5 years, on both a club team
and the school team. Stewart explains that “I love the community on my soccer team. My teammates have become some of my best friends.” She has also been playing volleyball for the school for 2 years. She enjoys getting to play and be on a team with older students, and she views them as role models.
Along with her athletic side, Stewart also has an interest in the arts. She enjoys literature, specifically murder mysteries. Her favorite book is “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” which she read with her best friend, Reese Fletcher. Murder mysteries are a common interest amongst Stewart’s friend group, and they regularly have murder mystery movie nights.
Stewart is looking forward to continuing her journey through high school at Carmel, and she hopes to continue learning more about herself and her interests. She has impacted both students and teachers with her love and kindness. One of Stewart’s favorite teachers, Mrs. Brinkley, beautifully notes that “Brianna radiates a light that shines for Christ in everything she does. She is kind-hearted, considerate, dependable, hardworking and a good friend to others. She strives for excellence in all she undertakes and is so grounded in the values she knows are important. It is a joy and honor to be one of her teachers.”
