Gabrielle Goenaga
A new addition to the Blue and Gold family, Gabrielle Goenaga is excited to continue her journalism work. Born in North Carolina, Goenaga grew up a Charlotte native. She has lived here for all seventeen years of her life and has only moved once. Throughout Goenaga’s life, she has done almost everything there is to do in Charlotte. She is glad for the memories Charlotte has given her, but she is ready to move on to new experiences.
Outside of school, Goenaga is a very eclectic individual. Goenaga works at Rita’s Italian Ice, taking pride in a job well done. In fact, Goenaga has excelled in work so much, she has become one of Rita’s most valuable employees. She enjoys hanging out with her close friends, Ava and Brenna. She also attends concerts regularly with one of her favorites being Clairo. Another one of her favorite past times is spending time with her brother, Nathan. Nathan attends Appalachian State University, which sadly does not allow the two to spend much time together. However, she says it makes the time they get together sweeter.
Media and Journalism has always been an interest of Goenaga’s ever since she first took the class. She is a part of The Blue and Gold class for many different reasons. Goenaga loves to write. One of her main goals this year is to create and execute on original story ideas. Another goal she shares with the rest of The Blue and Gold staff is to create more interest around in the publication throughout the school. Also, according to her, a huge plus to the class is having Ms. Muir-Taylor as a teacher.
Goenaga plans to follow in her brother's footsteps and attend Appalachian State University after graduation in the fall. Although she has an idea what she would like to do after school, she would like to see where life takes her. Goenaga is still planning out her future, however she is passionate about people, her writing, and creating a beautiful environment combining both.
