Ellamay Ulman is one of the many new faces joining the Blue and Gold this year. She was born in Trumbull, Connecticut and moved all around the country when she was younger. Ellamay settled in Charlotte when she was in fourth grade and been here ever since. Ellamay’s first year at Carmel was last year, and she is looking forward to her second year among her peers.
Ellamay adds a unique perspective to the Blue and Gold with her love for technical theater and her experience in stage management. She was Assistant Stage Manager for last year's play of “Mary Poppins” and currently manages the studio class for Carmel.
Last summer, Ellamay was in charge of running the spotlight in the play, “Hello Dolly.” Ellamay is also currently assistant stage managing “Finding Nemo Jr.” at Matthews Playhouse. When Ellamay is not running the spotlight, she is an avid reader and music lover, she also has been perfecting her skills at crochet and knitting. Ellamay is currently working at Second and Charles bookstore in Matthews.
Ellamay’s love for journalism sprouted when she took Media and Journalism I with Ms. Muir-Taylor her sophomore year. She hopes to continue growing in her writing abilities, voice and style through this year’s publication.

Your skills as a photographer are wonderful Ellmay and you really captured the emotions that go along with a XC meet! Thank you for honoring the hard work, sweat and tears (literally) of these students and coaches who are so dedicated. XC is an amazing and exciting sport, and you communicated it well through your photos.
