Grace Hawley
Another returning member of the CCS Blue and Gold, Grace Hawley, is a 17-year-old senior who plans on blending her passions for journalism, artistic expression, and other interests to impact the world around her. Born in the sunshine state, of Florida, and raised in the state of North Carolina, Hawley’s diverse experiences have shaped her into a well-rounded individual, who is determined to impact Carmel Christian School, especially the fast-growing high school scene.
Immersed in the vibrant culture of her high school, Hawley has found a home in the yearbook staff, where she gets the chance to express her journalistic skills, giving voice to the different perspectives of the student body. Hawley loves the chances she gets to combine her skills from yearbook and The Blue and Gold. Hawley spends most of her off time going on long drives, reading various genres of writing, and diving into the musical realm by playing her guitar. Beyond the written word, Hawley’s creative spirit has led her to explore many different artistic avenues, including music appreciation, finding her favorite artists in the inspiration and the melodies of Frank Ocean and the cool-flowing rap of Ken Carson. Hawley recalls her fondest memory being the day she welcomed her Goldendoodle, Ellie, back to her home.
Hawley is excited for her senior year, and she is still deciding her college path with her top schools being Furman University and UNC Wilmington where she plans to study the math side of the business realm. Hawley approaches this coming year with a sense of openness and curiosity, determined to explore the many new opportunities that lie before her. Hawley will be an integral part of The Blue and Gold team this year, and she will work as a mentor for the first-year staff. Look out for the many articles and stories Grace Hawley will produce this year in her final year at Carmel Christian School.
